Affording college is not easy and we know that it can take a lot to make it all happen between work, life and school. Also, we’ve had our own personal experience with the burden of student loan debt and how terribly restrictive that can be. Because of this we like to give this scholarship to help.
Helping you succeed is something that we want to do. As entrepreneurs we’ve worked hard and dedicated ourselves to lifelong learning. Education is something that we greatly value and want to help you make sure you have the opportunities you’re looking for, to have the success in life that you’d like to have.
You should know that we’re creative and fun so don’t be afraid to say something edgy.
Describe in words your dream life. What emotions would you feel on a daily basis, what would it actually look and feel like. Be descriptive.
At the end of the essay, write a brief paragraph about how you’re planning to get there. This part should be ¼ or less of the full length of the essay.
You will be evaluated based on your ability to evoke a clear image and feeling of what it is that you want in life. How well can I clearly see the picture of your dream life. If I can see it perfectly when I read your essay, then you’ll be at the top of the list.
Also, some weight will be given to the additional paragraph at the end of the essay regarding how you will achieve your goals. We are looking to see how actionable your plan is and also if you follow the rule about this paragraph being ¼ or less.

At The Sunrise Center use traditional indigenous medicines to help people move through difficult transitions in their lives. Often the guests to our retreat center are dealing with some kind of opiate dependency, ptsd, depression, or some other kind of addiction.
We primarily use a plant called tabernanthe iboga to help our clients. Often we use a distilled version of it called ibogaine. This is especially helpful for healing drug addictions while also awakening each person’s full potential. Iboga is an amazing shrub from west africa. The part of the plant that has the active alkaloid with the therapeutic effects is the root bark.
The types of benefits that people receive are quite vast. Here is a list of some of them: increased serotonin and dopamine, no cravings or withdrawals from opiates, healing of old emotional pain and traumatic experiences, a mindset shift and a reinvigoration for life are some of the things people experience.
The Sunrise Center is one of a few other ibogaine clinics around the world that offer this kind of treatment. Often, as is the case with us, there are additional therapy and detox modalities that are employed by each centers team. Using these different plant medicines together in one retreat creates a cleansing within the whole being that is profound.
We are located near Rosarito in Baja California, Mexico, about an hour and a half from San Diego. You can see maps of our location here. We’ve been working in the area for years providing ibogaine treatments and helping people through the crossroads in their lives while providing a safe haven for them to heal.
If you’re curious about all this our blog is a great resource for more detailed and thorough information.
Addiction and trauma are difficult things to overcome, but we’ve seen over and over again with the guests that go through our facility that alternative treatment works. Effective substance abuse treatment and treatment of difficult life experiences is effective with ibogaine. It’s really cool. We’re very passionate about what we do and would love to help you fund your education.
