What’s your food detox therapy journey been like?
In ibogaine treatment center, ibogaine and food detox therapy go hand in hand.
Food is super important to me. I grew up having a lot of digestive issues. Primarily, I had horrible gas. I don’t mean, bad, I mean the worst you’ve ever heard of…horrible.
So, I started adding and subtracting food substances from my diet. After a lot of trial and error, being vegan, vegetarian, raw, etc, I’ve fixed upon a meal plan of sorts that works well for me.
Haley’s way of eating…
- zero sugar
- zero dairy
- very little grains
- very very little wheat
- and tons of greens.
Here’s what I do for protein:
- I love buffalo
- and fish
Don’t forget Fat!
- I get lots of it from olive oil used as a garnish
Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying this is the perfect way to eat for everyone. Just for me. All of my previous body issues have gone away and have stayed away. This won’t work perfectly for everyone, but it’s a good place to start.

I love to share this perfect chicken thighs recipe:
- 1 package boneless skinless chicken thighs
- salt and pepper
Trim fat, wash and pat dry. Evenly salt and pepper both sides of chicken, let rest on counter 5-10 mins. You do this because the internal temp of the chx needs to come up or they won’t cook evenly and you’ll have one that’s done on the outside, red in the middle of the thigh. Heat skillet to medium heat, don’t add any oil. Just before pan begins to smoke add chicken and turn heat down to medium low (setting 3.5 on my stove).
Don’t move chicken once it’s in the pan, until you’re ready to flip it or chx will dry out. You will know it’s ready to flip when it starts to get a really nice chicken aroma. Also, if you use a fork and gently prod face up side of chicken, it will naturally slide in the pan because it will have a nice crust on it. This will be at approx minute 7. Flip and repeat. Let rest of a minute or two and enjoy. I really like thighs because they’re so flavorful, versatile and easy.
- 1 package bone in skin on chicken thighs
- salt and pepper
Heat oven to approx 425 F. Trim fat, wash and pat dry. Evenly salt and pepper both sides of chicken, let rest on counter 10-15 mins. Place in casserole dish or on broiling rack skin side up. Once oven is to temp put chicken in and set timer for 30 mins. You should be able to start to smell the chicken cooking after this amount of time, but will likely need to cook for another 10 minutes.
The skin will look crispy, fat will be rendering and chicken will be firm. Let chicken rest 5 minutes before eating. The first few times you make this you might want to check thighs are done by cutting into them, but try not to because it releases the juices from the meat.
You don’t have any body problems you’re trying to work through like I did, so why should you care?
The days and weeks after you take ibogaine need to be nurtured. The better you take care of yourself, the longer and stronger the plants will stay with you. In the ibogaine treatment center, we are not only focusing on the ibogaine treatment but we also want our client to recover and be healthy. That’s why I strongly emphasize the important of food detox program while you are in ibogaine therapy.
Make sure that whichever ibogaine treatment center you go to is serving you healthy whole food. You can’t recover well if you aren’t getting the nutrition you need.
